Yesterday was one month from the day Pearl was placed in our arms. Gotcha! They call the time between when you get custody of your little one until the next day when you sign papers officially adopting him or her the "harmonious period." It was probably one of the least harmonious periods of Pearl's life, but she accepted us by one-month-ago-today: Adoption Day when in the eyes of the Chinese courts we became a family!
And tomorrow will be two years since we legally became Davis' parents. We weren't at that court meeting, but we were anxiously anticipating a call from our agency telling us that our son was indeed ours. We were so thrilled to get that good news! Who knew that the baby who we'd already grown to love before we saw him would grow up to be a delight and a joy and a ballerina:
