The Organized Shopper

For those of you who don't know already - my sister is The Organized Shopper. She makes these super cute coupon organizers - that hang on your cart! - and sells them in her etsy shop. Her organizers are featured as part of the Nester's giveaway today so head over here if you'd like a chance to win one. My organizer saves me so much time when I'm trying to grab the deals at the stores.

Adopting for Life

David and I went to the awesome Adopting for Life conference in February. You can hear audio from the conference at this site. For you moms who have crossed or will be crossing the color line in adoption, check out Maridel Sanberg's breakout session.

David Platt's speech was great.

As was Judd Medefind's. He gave one of the best descriptions of the paradox of adoption that I've seen - the "intersection between dark and light."

World Cup, Here We Come

Faith's secret strategy - "I sang songs to myself while I was running around!" We can't call this a game-winning or goal-scoring or even running-the-right-way strategy, but, hey, it works for her! We had a blast watching her Go! Go! Go! Her league includes kids from K4 - 1st grade so there were some definite size mismatches going on during certain points in the game. Also, her coach put her in goalie position at one point, and I was barely able to restrain myself from going on to the field and saying, "My baby is too little for that!" She didn't know she was too little - she even made a few stops!

Important Milestone

This is the first time Davis fed himself spaghetti. Notice his awesome technique as evidenced by these photos - he was tightly clutching the spoon in his hand during the entire effort. Now if only we could get him to use said spoon to transport food from plate to mouth. . .

Walk Tall

This morning Faith and I were singing the Ziggy Marley/Paul Simon new classic "Walk Tall"*
Walk Tall, Walk Tall
Even when you fall, get up!
And Faith turned to me and said very seriously, "That's really true, Mama."
*And yes, we were singing in public. Loudly. Because we also subscribe to the philosophy of the new Ravi somebody song "If you want to sing out, sing out!" We have learned so much from Kids Place Live on XM Radio.
